Finances
We are currently investigating four different options that will help cover the finances needed to realize De Torteltuin.
Crowdfunding
By means of a crowdfunding campaign, people can invest in a Torteltuin-bond, which is a loan with transferable debt certificate.
Public funds
The Amsterdam municipality has voiced the ambition to start a fund that can support housing cooperatives with a bridge loan. We are also currently engaged with a number of funds that support sustainable development and residential development.
Bank loan
The best chances for getting a loan lie with banks that have an objective in sustainability, like Triodos or ASN. Giving out loans to housing cooperatives however is at the moment still relatively unknown territory for Dutch banks. It will therefore be advantageous for us to approach some German banks (GLS) as well.
Subsidies
The government has a number of sustainability subsidies we comply with.
